Artist-in-Residence Exhibit

The Blue Hill Observatory is not only a place of scientific discovery—it is also a place of creative exploration.

Located above the historic Observer’s Room, a dedicated space is being developed for our Artist-in-Residence Exhibit, where art and science meet at the summit.

Coming Soon: Artist-in-Residence Exhibit

Opening Soon: A new exhibition space featuring rotating work from artists engaging with weather, climate, and the Observatory’s 140+ year record.

This unique exhibit will showcase work created through our Artist-in-Residence program—bringing new perspectives to the data, history, and lived experience of weather observation.

Future Programming

Talks & Public Programs

Planned artist talks, workshops, and collaborative events will connect visitors more deeply to both the science and the creative interpretation of climate and weather.

The Space

The Artist-in-Residence Exhibit is located one level above the Observer’s Room—placing it at the heart of the Observatory’s scientific work while offering a new lens through which to experience it.

This setting reflects the Observatory’s identity as a living laboratory, where data, observation, and interpretation continuously evolve—not only through science, but through creative expression.

Artist-in-Residence Program

The exhibit is part of a broader Artist-in-Residence program that invites artists to engage deeply with the Observatory’s work, history, and datasets.
