Explore 140+ years of continuous weather and climate science—through hands-on tours, real-time data, and one of New England’s most iconic summits.

The Blue Hill Observatory is open to the public on weekends, federal holidays, and Patriot’s Day throughout the year. Tours by appointment are available any day of the week, year-round.

Public Tour Hours

Late Winter & Spring  (February – May 24) 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Summer & Early Fall  (May 25 – October 12) 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Late Fall & Winter  (October 13 – December 31) 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Open on Weekends, Federal Holidays, and Patriot’s Day. Tours by appointment are available any day of the year — contact us to schedule.

Blue Hill Observatory is now open to members every day during our operating season — a new benefit of membership. On weekends and holidays, the Observatory is also open to the general public.
